OFF BOTANY BAY, Australia (NBC/APTN) — Australian camera crews filmed an unusual site in the ocean near Sydney Thursday.

The male, all-white humpback is called Migaloo is one of the world’s rarest whales.
Other whales were seen making the journey with him.
Australian media says Migaloo can often be seen off the New South Wales coast during late June.
The site thrilled whale-watching tourists and locals.
“It was really just so white, and you could see him coming from a long way away because the water was turquoise wherever he was passing under,” says one whale-watcher.
