Sightings of Killer Whales

We have seen Killer Whale Transients hunting seals and sea lions, and we even saw a harbor seal jump on-board a small boat to escape the stalking transients, it was pretty spectacular.
This year is the four-year anniversary of the record-breaking 2010 Fraser River Sockeye Salmon run which brought 30 million fish to the shores of Vancouver. The progeny of this massive salmon spawn are expected to return to the river this year and spawn themselves. Salmon are the backbone of our coastal ecosystem and with all these salmon returning we expect sightings to continue to amaze throughout the Summer and Fall.
The sightings of Killer Whales and the great weather we have been having in the city and throughout the islands is terrific.
